Muttai Thokku – Kerala Style Egg Roast

Muttai Thokku kerala style

Muttai Thokku

Muttai Thokku – kerala style is a South Indian style egg curry / roast recipe where boiled eggs are cooked in an thick onion and tomato gravy.

I am an egg addict. I have grown up eating eggs everyday and I have great memories of my mom serving me hot rasam rice and eggs, I literally feel that’s more than enough for me to survive. Having said that I think eggs are very versatile and is a very nutritious food for anyone.

I always keep stock of eggs in my kitchen so. The simplicity of an Indian style egg Thokku or muttai thokku is mind blowing.

Thokku in Tamil means like a thick and condensed gravy. I have found taken some inspiration from Kerala style egg roast and used coconut oil in the recipe.

What I love about this is how well it Pairs with roti or rice such a handy recipe for busy weeknights. if you want to make a super delicious quick meal out of eggs see the recipe below.
