Edamame hummus is my delicious take on Middle Eastern Hummus recipe, using Japanese Edamame beans.
Edamame is very commonly found in Japan and it is one of the serious snacks be it picnics, lunch boxes, Japanese izakaya (bars).
This edamame hummus comes together in 15 mins if you have the ingredients at hand, I’ll also share the swaps incase you can’t find anything listed in the ingredients… so here you go !
Recipe:
- Blend 1 cup peeled, boiled edamame beans, 1/4 cup tahini or Greek / hung yoghurt, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 clove of large garlic, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 cup or less water, salt to taste and blend together until smooth.
- Store in an airtight container and serve it on toasts, dips for veggies.
Notes :
- You can replace edamame with any cooked beans (remove the skin if they have) but that is a variation.
Do try and let me know how you enjoyed this way to eat edamame.
